Some animal rights activists are fighting to replace the term 'owner' with 'guardian' to convey a more balanced relationship between a person and her or his pet. Do you agree or disagree with the importance of this mission?
I disagree. Enough with the political corretness crap! There are more important things to worry about/deal with than semantics. Next thing that these people are going to attack is calling an animal "pet."
If a magic genie told you your calories wouldn't count for 24 hours, would it change what and how much you ate that day?
Nope. I don't count calories. What I do count is how much sugar is in something and avoid as much sugar as I can, and try to eat more fruit and veggies. That may seem to make no sense, but processed sugar is more easily digested than the complex sugar in fruit, which is what makes sugar so bad for you. I've been losing weight, this way. If I really want to lose weight faster, I'll start counting carbs and exercising.
Yes, many of the pets we've had over the years have had a sense of humor. I think it depends largely upon how you treat the animals you share your lives with. If they are truely members of your family, and you treat them with love and respect, they will develop their own personality and sense of humor.
